Overview

Hollow is a contemporary vampire story, but with a few new twists. Celina Myers puts a new spin on the 'vampire initiation' process and sets the record straight on some commonly speculated vampire folklore. I HOPE this is simply an entry into a longstanding series because now I have feelings for these characters, and I need more.

What Worked

I cannot believe that Celina hasn't been an author for decades - her writing is absolutely superb. The character building in Hollow leaves me craving more in the BEST way. Not because things are missing or disjointed, but because the character relationships feel so REAL I want to know everything about them.

Sometimes when authors are really good at character writing, the plot is left with something to be desired - in the case of Hollow - the plot also gripped me from page one. Not only is there a feeling of mystery and intrigue, but there's also a flawlessly intertwined time element. New vampires are highly sought after because of the quality of their blood - and our FMC is a brand new vampire.

What Didn’t

Honestly I only wish there was more. I wish the end hadn't come so abruptly, and that there was more investigation and back and forth between the two families. I do love the way it ended, but I feel like it just happened too soon. I'm not sure if this was done to set up a larger 'Celinaverse' of vampires, or if this will be the only entry, but I'll be SO sad if I don't get more of Mia and Morgan.

Favorite Moment / Quote

One thing was for sure; vampires were real. And Mia Adair was one of them.

Final Verdict

Absolutely LOVED this book - I devoured it in only a few days (it usually takes me a couple weeks to read a book) and I felt really connected to the characters, the scenery, and the story the entire time.
